CHEMISTRY

This course is designed to give students a solid foundation in basic chemistry as required for WAEC and JAMB. We will start from the very beginning with simple ideas and build step by step so that even someone who is just starting can follow and understand clearly. The focus is on helping students understand the principles behind each topic and also how to apply them in solving questions.

The areas we will cover include separation of mixtures and purification of substances where students will learn different practical methods of separating and purifying materials in everyday life. We will also go into chemical combination and stoichiometry where we explain how substances react in definite proportions and how to calculate reacting masses and volumes.

The course will also cover kinetic theory and gas laws which explain the behavior of matter in terms of particles and the simple mathematical laws that govern gases. Students will then be introduced to atomic structure to understand the nature of atoms electrons protons and neutrons and how these explain the properties of elements. Finally we will study chemical bonding to see how atoms join together to form compounds and why substances behave the way they do.
